playgroups

All members are welcome to join individual playgroups.  Several playgroups exist and new groups are continualy formed, each consisting of approximately 4-6 families.  Playgroups are created based on ages of the children and schedule preferences.  They meet weekly at a regular day and time.  Most groups alternate meeting in each other’s home, or in the warmer weather, at the playground, beach, Boardwalk, etc.  Playgroups are formed and coordinated by our Playgroup Director.  New members will be placed in a group that meets the member’s needs.  New members who cannot be placed immediately will be placed on a waiting list until a permanent group is established.

Each playgroup elects a representative who is responsible for acting as a liaison between the Board and her individual group by attending monthly Board Meetings, as well as for the general organization of her Playgroup.

Playgroups have many benefits for mothers and children.  They provide an excellent opportunity for mothers to interact with one another; exchange ideas, tips and sometimes even childcare.  Many moms in out club have made lasting friendships from their playgroups, as have their chldren.  Playgroups allow young children the opportunity to practice important early social skills, such as sharing and taking turns, while playing and having fun.  Overall, playgroups are a wonderful experience to share with your children and friends.

Not all members choose to join a playgroup.  “Non-playgroup” moms can be active in attending club parties, meetings, and fundraisers.  A Non-Playgroup Representative Board Member exists to maintain contact and coordinate those members.
